Entering a See’s Candies store is like stepping out of time. For 95 years, they’ve been welcoming customers with a warm smile and a free piece of chocolate. They are a timeless brand, wholly committed to the traditional virtues of quality and service that Mary See epitomized.
We envisioned a modern interpretation of the brand’s authentically classic sensibility. Drawing inspiration from the See’s Candies catalog and design trends of the 1930s and 40s, we blended the aesthetics of old-fashioned publications with those of modern home magazines. Thoughtfully placed illustrations and ornamental flourishes bring the See’s personality to life with whimsy, optimism, and simple nostalgia.
To complete that in-the-store sensation, we built a charming new Custom Mix tool. Beckoning customers to create their own perfect box, it recreates the classic counter experience. This feature has led to double-digit increases in revenue and average order value, as well as a 9% increase in conversion rate. All told, we built four separate but connected sites to accommodate different customer bases, all responsively designed for true mobile friendliness.
